ttu marsha sharp center for student athletes

The Marsha Sharp Center for Student Athletes at Texas Tech University was designed as a dedicated academic facility to support Red Raider student-athletes in achieving success both in the classroom and on the field. Strategically located just south of the Frazier Pavilion and the iconic Masked Rider Statue, the Center provides a focused environment where academic development is prioritized alongside athletic commitment.

About This Project

In keeping with Texas Tech’s historic Spanish Renaissance architectural style, the building incorporates traditional design elements such as red tile roofing, cast stone accents, and a warm brick faΓ§ade that harmonizes with the surrounding campus architecture. These details ensure the facility complements the university’s established character while reinforcing its commitment to excellence.

The facility features a central Academic Hall of Honor, celebrating the achievements of student-athletes and serving as the symbolic heart of the building. One wing includes twenty-eight private tutor rooms, two classrooms, a quiet study room, and two computer labsβ€”spaces designed to foster academic focus and individualized support. The opposite wing houses ten administrative offices that support academic programs tailored to student-athletes. The thoughtful layout promotes an environment of learning, mentorship, and success.
