Since joining MWM Architects in 2008, Stephen has built a reputation for delivering successful and impactful projects across a wide range of sectors. With over 16 years of experience, he brings expertise in managing complex architectural endeavors, including his role as a lead architect on MWM’s most intricate project, the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences.

Stephen’s work spans educational, civic, and cultural facilities, and he is deeply committed to integrating innovative design with user-centered functionality. His approach focuses on enhancing the experience of building users, ensuring that each project serves as a transformative space that meets modern needs while promoting sustainability and efficient use of resources.

A Texas Tech University graduate with a Master of Architecture, Stephen has also been actively involved in Lubbock’s local AIA chapter, serving as the 2018 Chapter President and engaging in community outreach through MWM Life, a program he founded in 2017. His efforts within the program, including projects like “The Selena House,” underscore his passion for leadership and community impact.

Stephen draws inspiration from photography, travel, and meaningful collaborations with clients and colleagues. When he’s not immersed in design, he enjoys golfing, building hotrods, and spending quality time with his family. His work is driven by the belief that architecture can elevate both the built environment and the people it serves—a philosophy that aligns with his favorite JFK quote, "We choose to go to the moon... not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
