St. Elizabeth University Parish
In a joint venture with Heimsath Architects of Austin, a nationally recognized religious facility design firm, MWM Architects worked alongside one of Lubbockβs oldest church communities to formulate a long-range Master Plan for development. The first phase of this plan was the completion of a new 1,000-seat sanctuary located on church land adjacent to Broadway, offering a spiritual gathering space for the community.
About This Project
A key design consideration for the sanctuary was ensuring optimal acoustical performance, particularly for large congregations. To meet this challenge, expert acoustical consultants were engaged to ensure the space would perform to the highest standards, providing an immersive and reverent atmosphere for worship.
The sanctuaryβs Spanish Renaissance style architecture is a reflection of the parishβs unique relationship with the nearby Texas Tech University student community. This architectural style, which blends classic and modern influences, adds to the charm and historical richness of the church, creating a welcoming environment for all.
