Crosbyton High School Renovation

Crosbyton CISD’s nearly 100-year-old high school underwent a thoughtful and historically sensitive renovation that honored the building’s legacy while updating it for modern educational use. The 24,000 SF facility now includes renovated classroom and administration spaces, along with an updated library and auditorium, all designed to enhance the student experience while preserving the school’s architectural heritage.

About This Project

One of the most impactful aspects of the renovation was the restoration of the auditorium’s historic features. Original pressed metal ceiling tiles and a decorative cornice above the prosceniumβ€”once hidden behind drop ceilingsβ€”were carefully uncovered, repaired, and restored to view. Throughout the building, new materials and finishes were selected to reflect the school’s original design elements. For example, new wall coverings reference the original wainscoting, and custom light fixtures were sourced to match those seen in historic photographs. A collection of these photographs has been permanently printed on wall panels and proudly displayed in the school’s main corridor, creating a strong visual link between past and present.
