About This Project

MWM was tasked with designing the third building in the Betenbough Office Complex, expanding their established corporate campus in Lubbock, Texas. The design challenge was to create a building that harmonizes with the architectural language and scale of the two existing structures while asserting its own unique identity.

To achieve this balance, the new building’s massing, materials, and detailing were thoughtfully coordinated to complement the existing campus aesthetic, creating a cohesive yet distinct addition. Special attention was given to integrating the building seamlessly with its site and surroundings.

A signature design feature is the incorporation of landscaped elements not only around the building but also within the interior space. The main two-story foyer brings nature indoors through thoughtfully designed landscaping that visually and physically connects to the adjacent landscaped park on the campus. This creates an inviting entry experience and promotes a sense of wellbeing for occupants and visitors.

The landscaping acts as a unifying thread between the new building and the existing campus, enhancing outdoor views and natural light penetration, while encouraging connectivity and interaction between employees across the complex.

Through a thoughtful blend of architectural expression and site integration, MWM crafted a workspace that supports productivity, collaboration, and a strong connection to place—strengthening Betenbough’s corporate identity and workplace environment.
