Santa Barbara, California. MWM provided masterplanning, preliminary architectural design, and obtained public agency approval for the Santa Barbara Station Hotel, a 133-room luxury four-star hotel that was to be built around the City's active, historic railroad station. The Spanish-style project which includes the renovation and reuse of the railroad station provides for a 75-seat restaurant and 150-seat cocktail lounge overlooking a landscaped plaza. It also includes 12,400 sq. ft. of shops integrated into the hotel, an 86-car basement garage, and a swimming pool and landscaped terrace with adjacent fitness room. Adjacent to the hotel, across the railroad tracks, is a 150-car parking garage with 6,000 sq. ft. of ground level commercial lease area.
