Treasure Island, San Francisco, California. The U.S. Department of Labor selected MWM for design and construction administration services for a Job Corps Center located at the Treasure Island Naval Base. The project consisted of the conversion and rehabilitation of ten buildings to provide housing, administration, education, vocational shops, food service, recreation, medical/dental and storage/support for an 850-student facility. The rehabilitation included the design of accessibility upgrades, elevator additions, life/safety improvements, mechanical and electrical systems, and hazardous materials abatement. This rehabilitation project also included the design of a 35,000 sq. ft. physical fitness center.
