Alameda County, California. This project involves the renovation of the former 3-story law library into a video studio for the District attorney of Alameda county. The space is approximately 2,065 sq. ft. and is located in the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse in Oakland, California, originally constructed in 1934. The challenge of the design's development is preserving the Art Deco detailing of the 1930's while introducing the technology of a video recording studio. The new work consists of the addition of a greenhouse type structure for the control room, new non-structural partitions, new wall and floor finishes, and new lighting.
