Coalinga, California. The City of Coalinga purchased a 5,500 sq. ft., developer-built office building in downtown, and moved a few of the city's administrative departments into it. MWM's tasks were to quadruple the size of that existing building and to provide a completely new, cohesive-image City Hall/Police Building. That was accomplished by absorbing the existing building, while it remained occupied and fully operational, and reconstructing its primary elevation to match the new design aesthetic. Although the result is a single building, the City Hall and Police functions are completely separate. They have distinctly separate entry identities, around the corner from each other.
