Cathedral City, California. MWM Architects won the national architectural design competition for this Cathedral City City Hall and Police Building. The resulting MWM-designed 65,000 sq. ft., $11.5 million, three-story Civic Center structure fronts on a new town square that is the centerpiece of an entirely new downtown retail, housing, entertainment and governmental core. The City Hall/Police Building program elements include: Administrative offices for the City's Council, City Manager, Finance, Community Development and Police departments; an emergency operations center; temporary holding facility; and a 100-seat council chamber that overlooks the Coachella Valley and the Santa Rosa Mountains.
