Eureka, California. MWM provided programming, architectural design, permit and project management services for the Adorni Memorial Recreation Center, approximately 19,000 sq. ft. Due to the project's location on the historic waterfront in downtown Eureka, a design theme was established that blends the Victorian elements of the downtown buildings with marine warehouses, docks, parks and other water related uses that exist along the waterfront. The building contains a three-court basketball/volleyball gymnasium (convertible to multi-use community social hall with preparation kitchen), aerobic exercise room, weight room, shower/locker facilities, arts and crafts and community meeting rooms.
